This is the Baked Bread Candle. Buttery-baked bread is one of our earliest candle ideas when starting the shop, and only now have we finally perfected it. Most baked bread candles smell too sour and yeasty, with not enough of the hot, crunchy, straight-out-of-the-oven crust notes. It took us many trials and errors, sourcing fragrances from numerous fragrance houses to formulate this candle.

"C'est la Baguette" is a truly full-spectrum baked bread candle! You can smell the crunchy and nutty hot crust, the characteristic sour & fermenting smell of "the crumb" (the white fluffy part inside the bread), and the warm, oozing butter pouring on it. Oh la la, c'est si bon!

Notes: Warm Bread Crust, Sourdough, Butter, Buttermilk.

How long do your candle last?

The duration of our candles varies from 40- 45 hours (Full size candles), and 15-18 hours (sample candles), all depends on usage. For optimal candle lifespan, we suggest following our candle care guidelines.

Why some of my candles aren't filled to the top?

Our samples candle container maximum capacity is 120ml, and our full size container maximum capacity is 270ml, so candles are never filled all the way to the top (the rim). While we aim to fill more than what we are listing for (120ml for sample, 270ml for full size), handpour candles are never perfect. If you are unsatisfied with the product, please reach out and we will sort all your enquiries :)

As close as it gets to the real thing

I’ve just had this candle burning while two plumbers were completing a job in my bathroom. They said: “okay we have to know - what are you baking because it smells amazing!” They couldn’t believe it was just a candle 😂

Delicious!

This candle is incredible - it smells delicious, just like a bakery - and is super long burning. The scent is subtle when not burning, but when lit it absolutely fills up the room (and also maybe the corridor because my neighbours have recently asked if I bake!)

It really smells like bread!

I don't know how they did it but they really captured all the nuances of fresh baked bread in a candle! It's warm but light and fluffy, a bit doughy/sour/cooked (in a nice way!), and a touch browned from the crust. It's a good savoury gourmand if you want the house to smell delicious but not sweet!
